This
is a conversation course in
which teens use conversation
topics and worksheets to assist
them to improve their conversation
abilities. For example, the topics
presented by the teacher could
be about music, movies or movie
stars, cars, or general topics
that teens are interested in.
The lessons are designed to get
the students thinking and speaking
cognitively in the classroom.
In addition, students play English
games, watch English television
programs, take quizzes, role-play
actions and get involved in performance
based lessons-all designed
to instill confidence, inspire
creativity, and, stimulate learning.
All lessons use the latest teaching
methods such as “Thinking Centered
Learning” and “Performance Based
Learning” (see “About Us” page
to learn more about these methods).
General English Course (GEC)
This
course is designed
for lower level teens that
may need to improve all levels
of English, including speaking,
listening, reading, writing
and grammar. More specifically,
students who have a below average
understanding of grammar and
tense, whose vocabulary is
between 100 to 300 words, or,
whose comprehension abilities
are at twenty to thirty percent.
Students will use textbooks
and various other resources in
order to maximize the student’s
current English abilities. In
short, students will learn English
using the latest technological
advances available, such as computers,
talking dictionaries, cassette
recorders, TV’s and DVD players,
flashcards, overhead projectors,
specially designed worksheets,
textbooks, and readers.
